Joe Winch
"Resilience isn’t about bouncing back. It’s about showing up."
Decades of trauma, stress, and high-pressure environments can disconnect us — from our bodies, our minds, and the life around us. Joe Winch knows this intimately. After twenty years as a Royal Marines Commando Officer, serving from the frontlines of Afghanistan to some of the world’s highest and most remote peaks, he experienced firsthand the human capacity for endurance, courage, and leadership under extreme pressure — and the profound cost that comes with it.
Years of exposure to trauma, blast injuries, and relentless operational stress left Joe with life-changing physical and psychological injuries, including Complex PTSD, hyperacusis, and a deep sense of lost identity. Conventional therapeutic approaches, though well-intentioned, could not fully address the depth of his disconnection.
In the aftermath, Joe discovered a path back through embodied practices, nature immersion, trauma-informed breathwork, and expanded states of consciousness. These practices offered more than relief — they provided a way to reconnect: with his body, his breath, his mind, and ultimately his purpose. Breathwork, in particular, became a powerful tool for restoring presence, regulating the nervous system, and reclaiming agency.
This journey reshaped Joe’s understanding of resilience. True resilience is not about “bouncing back” to who you were, but about showing up fully, moment by moment, to who you are becoming. It is not about fixing what is broken, but about reclaiming connection, clarity, and the capacity to live with presence, courage, and integrity.
Today, Joe guides others through these transformative processes. From veterans navigating trauma to professionals seeking balance and clarity under pressure, his work blends lived experience, neuroscience, and somatic practice. Through breathwork, guided wilderness immersion, and trauma-informed facilitation, Joe creates spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, regain self-trust, and step fully into life.
